According to Exhibitor Magazine’s 2013 Economic Outlook Survey, exhibitors spend just over a third of their typical show budget (36.5%) on exhibit space. Show travel and lodging are the next big budget items at 13.5%, followed by show services (12.2%), exhibit design and/or construction (10.8%), exhibit shipping (10.3%) and exhibit promotion (6.1%). Graphic design and production takes up 6% of the average budget, and the remaining 4.6% is allocated toward other exhibit-related items.
The breakdown of the average trade show budget should come as no surprise, but it’s good information for comparing where your company stands when budgeting for upcoming shows.
