Exhibit Systems has again partnered with Pure Fishing for the recent 2015 Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in Greenville, SC. The bass fishing tournament and expo were a huge success, and in fact it was close to a record in attendance and participation. The Outdoors Expo is open to the public, which makes for some exciting and interesting customer interaction. And in February, in Greenville, South Carolina, there’s really not a lot to do… so everyone from the area was there.
Recreational fishing is a big business. According to the US Fish and Wildlife Service, there are more than 40 million licensed anglers that generate over $46 billion in retail sales. And these same anglers also enjoy the competition and excitement of the Bassmaster Classic tournament. Pure Fishing is one of the leaders in the premium fishing tackle and equipment category, with their exhibits showcasing their leading edge technology in fishing line, baits, rods and terminal tackle.
Andrew Marks, Director of Field Marketing at Pure Fishing had this to say after our recent partnership working the Bassmaster Classic, “I wanted to follow up on feedback from the Pure Fishing brand and sales teams on the excellent work that you and your team did at the Classic. Your team’s professionalism and willingness to do whatever it takes with minimal interruption was recognized by everyone.”
As one of the sponsors for the event, Pure Fishing has a pretty good sized footprint. In fact, they had two booth spaces, a 30’ x 120’ and a 20’ x 90’. Most of the fishermen out there will recognize some of their 17 brands displayed, which included Berkley, Abu Garcia, Shakespeare, Ugly Stik, Sebile, Spiderwire and Stren.
Dave Jentz, VP at Exhibit Systems has been working with Andrew Marks at Pure Fishing for over 10 years, and between them they’ve really accomplished a lot of great exhibit work. “Within the two footprints this year, we had a huge variety of exhibits and displays. There were product displays and demos, lots of truss and graphics, videos screens, hanging signs, and LED lights to make up one booth. We also put in a bass boat and a 53’ semi-trailer and cab. The second booth space not only featured a live six-piece country band, but we had a custom-built kids casting contest and a Plinko game, plus a large demo tank. And of course all the product displays, truss, graphics, stages, 4 hanging signs, and printed flooring… you name, we probably had it in the booth.”
Andrew Marks again commented, “This is one of the largest events that we do and there is a lot of complexity working with multiple brands along with several booths, but your team makes it seamless. The new displays (the Stren Plinko Game and Shakespeare Casting Game) were highly praised and the extra effort for the overhead truss for the Berkley lab area, among many other projects were handled very quickly and professionally. My hats off to you for an outstanding job. You and your company are great partners and I enjoy working with you.”
Andrew is a great example of the trusted partnership we continue to nurture with our clients. We know each other well, and we work together through the various issues to come along to produce the type of event that’s expected from a company like Pure Fishing.
We’ve already started on the next project, ICAST 2015 (@ICASTshow and #ICASTshow on Twitter), the world’s largest sportfishing trade show. It should be a lot of fun and we’re looking forward continuing the partnership.
