Reflecting on Who We Are
Who Am I? It’s an existential question that you probably had to wrestle with during your Philosophy 101 class. At Exhibit Systems, we’ve spent a lot of time over the past few months working on defining who we are, why we are in business, and exactly what we deliver for clients. Self-examination is rarely easy, but always worth it. We’ve read helpful books, had interesting conversations, brainstorming sessions, and hallway chats and ultimately developed a statement of “Who We Are” that captures the essence of our business:
WE BUILD: exceptional displays, trusted relationships,
and proven results guided by our core values.
Let’s look more closely at this statement. The core of what we do is to design and build exceptional displays that help our clients connect with their customers. But, fundamentally our purpose is to develop trusted relationships – with each other, with our clients, and within our community. The word “trust” came up over and over during our process of introspection. To have relationships of any value, they must be based in trust. Starting from this premise helps us in our hiring of the right team members, in our everyday processes, in our interactions with clients and prospects, and in our efforts to be of service to our community.
Woven throughout all our actions is our commitment to living our core values. These six values are more than just words on paper – we deliberately test every decision, every relationship, and every action by ensuring alignment with our core values. It is, ultimately, who we are.
